AUTHOR'S TEA.....Wow!!! I am so proud of second grade.  A spectacular job was done by all on their books.  Well done, students!

Scholastic book orders are due May 25.  I was unable to access each catalog on the scholastic website, so if you wish to order anything for summer reading, please send in a check made out to Scholastic.

PTC day at the Seawolves:  Sunday , June 10  Hope to see you there!  Discount ticket forms are due by May 18.  

Math  news:  For the remainder of the year we will focus on measurement and fractions.  Some ideas to do at home include using a ruler/yardstick to measure both standard and metric measures.  Cooking and baking are great ways to work with both measurement and fractions.

REMINDER:  Homework should be handed in the day it is due.  Late homework assignments will lose points but should still be handed in.  Work that is not handed in receives a zero.  You can always check assignments and grades online through Powerschool.

When your child is absent from school, I will have an assignment sheet with the lessons that were missed.  If your child has a sibling in school, I will try to send it home.  If not, the work will be on the table by the office door.  Students are encouraged to work on as much as they can when they feel better.  Please remember that the work should be handed in as soon as possible, but I do not expect everything to be completed by the following day if your child is sick!   There are no late penalties when a student is absent.  However, work does need to be handed in for credit!!!!
